The SES/320-50 & SES/320-100 vacuum oil purifiers are designed to improve dielectric strength of mineral and synthetic insulating fluids for use in high voltage electrical equipment. The oil is "conditioned" for high voltage electrical equipment filling in a single pass through the equipment. Dielectric strength is improved by removing dissolved water, dissolved gas, and particulate contamination. Two single pass performance standards are available. The standards are based on the starting contamination levels of the oil.

The typical US single pass standard is based on a 100% saturation or "worst case" scenario, for dissolved water and dissolved gas contamination. 100 ppm dissolved water and 12% dissolved gas contamination are assumed (SES/320-100).  Outside the US the single pass performance standard is commonly based on a lower more "typical" level of contamination found in new oil conditioning and in service oil reconditioning applications. 50 ppm dissolved water and 10% dissolved gas contamination are assumed (SES/320-50).

SES/320-50 Applications

In the US the majority of the SES/320-50 single pass systems sold are skid mounded for use in transformer manufacturing plants to condition new oil for transformer filling and testing. These systems are custom configured and are often integrated in the transformer manufacturing process. Flow rates can range from 1825 LPH to more 10,000 LPH

Mobile versions of the SES/320-50 are commonly used for field transformer installation and reconditioning applications outside the US. These units are for dedicated to oil conditioning only. Additional vacuum equipment would be required for transformer evacuation, evacuated filling, and dry out. Four standard size configurations are available. Flow rates can range from 1825 LPH to more 6,850 LPH

SES/320-100 Applications
The SES/320-100 systems include more vacuum pumping capacity and are primarily used for mobile transformer field service equipment. Since "worst case" oil contamination levels are rare, excess vacuum capacity is available for simultaneous transformer evacuation (dry out), and single pass evacuated filling, even if a dedicated evacuation pump is not available.
